More Information
Built in 1911 the Electric Palace Harwich is one of the world’s oldest and least altered purpose-built cinemas. Recently reopened following major repair and restoration work to save the Grade II* listed historic cinema.
Working in partnership, Historic England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported the restoration project with grant funding totalling more than £1.5 million (£474,791 from Historic England, including £151,291 from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund, and £1,033,900 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund).
The Electric Palace is a beautiful building and is only a short-walk from The Pier, which also starred in the latest Downton Abbey movie.
The Pier also team up with the Electric Palace to do themed film and food nights which consist of a screening at the Electric Palace, followed by a welcome drink and 3 course dinner back at the Pier. So far we have enjoyed Mamma Mia, Love Actually & have some exciting movies lined up. Keep an eye on our events page to see what is coming up.
Planning a House Party or corporate event? Why not exclusively hire the entire cinema to enjoy a film of your choice in the close company of friends, family or colleagues. Speak to one of our team when planning your event and we will be able to help arrange.
